Targeted murder shocks community of Blind Bay, BC

On June 1st, 2011, shortly after midnight, members of the Salmon Arm RCMP Detachment responded to reports of shots fired in the community of Blind Bay.

Investigation revealed that a 24-year-old man was shot while traveling in a vehicle on Blind Bay Road. Information suggests that the shots came from another vehicle traveling on the same road. Police believe that the victim was specifically targeted.

The identity of the deceased is being held pending notification of next of kin. The victim was a resident of Sorrento, BC.

Members of the Salmon Arm RCMP Detachment with assistance of the South East District Major Crime Unit continue to investigate this matter. No further information is available at this time.

Blind Bay is located approximately 20 kilometers west of Salmon Arm.
