Elderly Edmonton man found murdered in his apartment

An autopsy has been completed on the body of a 70-year-old man found in an apartment complex at 128 Avenue and 65 Street during the supper hour last night. While the Medical Examiner has deemed the death a homicide, the results of that autopsy are being withheld at this time. The man will not be identified as next of kin have not been notified.

Police were contacted after neighbours found the man deceased in his suite. The man’s neighbours had grown concerned when they had not seen or heard from him for several days.

Police are continuing door-to-door interviews in the complex talking to residents to see if someone heard or saw anything unusual. Police are asking anyone who thinks they may have information that could be useful to police to contact them.
