Toronto man arrested for taking hidden upskirt pictures on TTC

On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, police arrested a man in connection with a voyeurism investigation.

It is alleged that:

– at 10:05 p.m., an off-duty TTC employee saw the man on the Bloor subway line, carrying a nylon cooler lunch bag with a small camera attached to it,

– the man placed the cooler directly under a woman’s dress and took photos,

– the man then fled the scene,

– the accused was followed by the off-duty TTC employee and a second TTC employee, who called police,

– the accused was arrested shortly thereafter.

Omar Perez Vargas, 29, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Voyeurism – sexual purpose.

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Thursday, June 2, 2011, room 501, at 1 a.m.
