On June 20th, 2011 just before 3:00 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a theft of approximately 300 metres of live telephone wire.

The theft was thought to have occurred sometime overnight approximately three kilometres east of the Cameron Street Bridge, on PG Pulp Mill Road in Prince George. Indication at the scene is that the thief or thieves climbed the poles and cut the line with bolt cutters. Damages, loses and repair costs are expected to be worth thousands of dollars.
