EPS Homicide Section detectives have charged a man in connection with the death of a man in his early 40s Saturday afternoon in the area of 101 Street and 105 Avenue.
Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 downtown division patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing in front of the Boyle Street Coop building. EMS also responded and transported the injured man to hospital where he died a short time later.
Follow-up work by investigators resulted in the arrest of a suspect. Charged with 2nd degree murder is Monwat Akool Madood, 21, of Edmonton.
An autopsy to confirm the cause of death has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 2nd. The victim’s name will be released pending notification of next of kin.
