Calgary police investigate about a man shot dead in front of a bar

On Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at 4:30 a.m., the Calgary Police Service responded to reports of shots fired in front of a bar in the 800 block of 16 Avenue S.W.
 
When officers arrived, they found one man lying on the sidewalk, deceased.
 
A second man was transported to a local hospital with what is believed to be superficial injuries.
 
Investigators are currently speaking with witnesses.
 
The identity of the deceased man has not yet been confirmed. An autopsy will likely be scheduled for tomorrow. No details regarding the victim or cause of death will be released until after the autopsy has been reviewed.
 
The scene continues to be contained, probably until later this afternoon.
 
It is not known at this time how many people were involved in this incident. However, one suspect is described as a black male, 6’ 2” to 6′ 4” tall, wearing dark track pants and a light-coloured hoodie with the hood up. He was seen leaving the area in a silver or white Chevrolet Malibu.
