On Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 at approximately 4:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service uniform members responded to a suspicious incident within the 200 block of Morley Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located the body of a deceased adult male who had sustained upper body injuries. The victim has been identified as Sheldon Kostenko, 33 years of Winnipeg.
As a result of the continued investigation by a number of units within the police service, and lead by the Homicide Unit, on December 4th, 2011 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a suspect male was located in the area of Osborne Street and Morley Avenue where he was taken into custody without incident.
Jordan Gregory Charney, 24 years of Winnipeg has been charged with one count of 2nd degree murder for his alleged involvement in this incident.
Charney has been detained in custody.
