Ontario police arrests men involved in province-wide child pornography

Five men from Ottawa have been charged with child pornography, which then helped the police to make around 60 more arrests and lay 213 charges. These people are accused of being involved in Ontario-wide child pornography.

A 48-year-old man is charged with two counts of luring a child under 14 and another six counts of luring a child under 16. According to Ottawa police, he apparently lured six teenaged girls and talked them into sharing their personal videos and photos with him.

“I think quite clearly this demonstrates the extent of the problem that we have in the province of Ontario, and to note of the 8,940 addresses that you see before you upon the screen, in the last couple of days, we’ve managed to arrest 60,” Det.-Sgt. Frank Goldschmidt said.

Mark Hillier, 49, of Hamilton, is charged with luring and invitation to sexual touching. Michael Petz, 27, is charged with accessing, possession and making child pornography. Allan Noon, 51, of Hamilton, is charged with accessing, possession and making child pornography. Brian Chandler, 28, of Hamilton, is charged with accessing, possession and making of child pornography.

According to the cops, 40 pieces of equipment were confiscated locally and detectives have been analysing the hard drives.

“We found victims ranging from pre-pubescent to teens, images, videos, DVDs, and all sorts of USBs have been searched, hard drives,” said Sgt. Frank D’Aoust. “Since we’ve had so many investigations, at the moment we don’t know exactly what else is left to be seen on these computers.”
