DC man Brian Dewayne Bloomfield dies of gunshot and stab wounds

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 3400 block of 13th Place, SE.

On Monday, June 11, 2012, at approximately 7:15 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the 3400 block of 13th Place, SE for the report of a possible shooting or stabbing.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple injuries.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death to be gunshot wound and stab wounds.  The manner of death has been ruled homicide.

The decedent is identified as 26-year-old Brian Dewayne Bloomfield of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
