Halifax man Simon Peter Dugas charged with first degree murder

A third person faces charges in connection with a murder and attempted murder last month in Halifax.

On May 25 at approximately 8:40 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call at 2711 Clifton Street in Halifax. Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the residence and a dispute occurred resulting in multiple shots being fired. Corey Lucas was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a second man, 31, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.

Last month, a man was charged with first degree murder and attempted murder and a woman was charged with accessory after the fact. Yesterday, 27-year-old Simon Peter Dugas of Halifax was arrested without incident at the Stanfield International Airport. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of first degree murder and attempted murder.
