NEW ELDERLY SCAM;
On April 19th. 2010 an 85 year old female received a telephone call from a male person purporting to be from Bell Canada and informing the female that she had won a new cell phone due to her being a "loyal" customer of Bell Canada.
The "Sales person" advised her that in order to receive this gift she would have to provide her address, date of birth, and SIN number.
The victim supplied the information required but did n ot receive the phone.
Bell Canada was contacted and advised the victim that they did not have any free cell phone promotions.
In providing this information over the phone the victim has left herself wide open for fraud or identity theft.
