The RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Unit has positively identified the human remains found in Middle Sackville in June of 2011.

On June 9th, 2011, a skull bone was found by surveyors in the woods near the 3300 block of Sackville Drive in Middle Sackville.  With assistance from the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s office, the RCMP Forensic Crime lab, and a Forensic Odontologist, police believe the remains to be those of Crystal Dawn Jack of Halifax. Ms. Jack has been missing since July 15th, 1997. She was last seen at her residence on Agricola Street in Halifax. She was reported missing to police on July 23rd, 1997. She was 30-years-old at the time of her disappearance. Her case was added to the Nova Scotia Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes on February 6, 2007. Investigators are working with this new information to determine what happened to Crystal Jack. Police believe there are people in the community who have information about her disappearance and they are encouraged to come forward. The Major Crime Unit believes that Crystal Jack met with foul play.
