Police claims that new charges have been laid as a northern Ontario man was allegedly assaulted, rather explicitly hit in the face, while his package of wild game sausages was stolen. The provincial police in Parry Sound confirms that the suspect stole the sausages on Dec. 30 during a wild game dinner at the local community centre, before he went to a Don Cherry’s Sports Grill for a drink.

Police states that later while the victim was walking back home, he was followed by a man, who was attacked by another man, also witnessed at the restaurant when the packaged meat was allegedly stolen during the argument. Furthermore, Police has narrated that their investigation into the stolen sausage has led them to follow the third man, who was found at his house, seen wearing blood-stained clothes while cooking a sausage.

Police has confirmed that both suspected men have been arrested and remain in police custody, whereas the suspicious package of sausages was taken in custody beforehand at the scene. The two arrested suspects include twenty-one-year-old Matthew Grant and twent-year-old Brandon Deacon. Grant has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and robbery, faces counts of possession, whereas Deacon has been charged with stolen property, robbery with violence and theft. Deacon is expected to appear in court on Friday, whereas Grant is planned to appear on Jan. 10. Both suspects reside in Parry Sound, although police has failed to identify the man injured in the incident.
