The Conservative party has appealed all its supporters to make a $25 donation in order to shape the Tory war chest for strengthening an attack ads campaign against the new Liberal Leader, Justin Trudeau. An email addressed to all Tory supporters was sent on sent Thursday, requesting donations as part of a larger fundraising battle in the works against the recently invigorated Liberal party under Trudeau that has been raking in donations.

A senior Conservative party official, Jenni Byrne, mentions in the email that their new Trudeau attack ads have become one of their most successful online ads ever, boasting an extraordinary 270,000 hits on YouTube, and reminding that additional funding is required to “make sure every Canadian sees these ads.” Byrne, who was also the national campaign manager for the 2011 election, explains that “these ads have spread farther and faster than any ads we’ve ever done.” The Conservative party has recently released a new website, www.justinoverhishead.ca, along with three new attack ad videos on Monday depicting Trudeau as “in way over his head” and undermining his experience and the judgment to be prime minister.

Byrne alleged that the ads have been gathering even more views than any other video the party has recorded, including the election period. She mentioned that “despite what the media wants you to think, the response to our new ad campaign has been overwhelming,” and “we need to make sure every Canadian sees these ads and you can help by making a $25 donation today.”

  1. Many liberals have pledged to donate to the liberal party every time they see a negative attack add. I am one of them. The reason the cyber bullying got so many views….it’s like a car wreck people have to look… But that doesn’t mean they approve. In light of the recent dialogue on bullying its surprising to me that the conservatives set such a bad example…shame..
