Motorcyclist dies in collision, Kent Junction, N.B.

At approximately 2:45 pm on July 26, 2010, District 5 Kent RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision in Kent Junction involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. An RCMP re-constructionist was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the collision. Preliminary investigation revealed that the passenger vehicle was heading southbound on Highway 126 in Kent Junction when it attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with the motorcyclist that was heading northbound at the time.

The motorcyclist, a 56-year-old-man from Rothesay, N.B. was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the Miramichi Hospital for minor injuries. The name of the deceased is not being released pending the notification of the next of kin.

The collision is still under investigation and charges are possible.
