Police arrest Roger Jesse Dubois after a high speed chase in Winnipeg

On July 26th, 2010 at approximately 5:18 p.m., Uniform members of the Winnipeg Police Service observed a vehicle in the area of Ellice Avenue and Strathcona Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

This vehicle, which contained two male occupants, failed to stop and immediately fled from police at a high rate of speed, disobeying several traffic control devices. Officers lost sight of the vehicle however did locate it abandon in the area of Riddle Avenue and Valour Street.

With the assistance of numerous citizens, the suspect male was located and arrested in the area of the 1200 block of Barratt Avenue.

Roger Jesse DUBOIS, 20 years of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following offences:

– Flight from Police Officer
– Dangerous Operation- Motor Vehicle
– Drive while Disqualified
– Possession Property Obtained by Crime X2
– Theft Under

DUBOIS has been detained in custody at the Provincial Remand Centre.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Stolen Auto Unit and a further arrest is pending.
