CIBC “Run for the Cure,” Toronto Road closures

On Sunday, October 3, 2010, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will hold the annual CIBC “Run for the Cure” event.

This event consists of a one-kilometre and five-kilometre run and walk. The event begins at 10 a.m. Queen’s Park Crescent East and West will be closed at approximately 9:30 a.m. The formation area will be on the University of Toronto grounds around Hart House Circle.

Please note the full road closures below.

Road Closures: 9:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, October 3, 2010.

Five-kilometre route: (Run/Walk)

Formation Area:
– 9:40 a.m., Hart House Circle within University of Toronto – all lanes

Start:

– 10 a.m., Hart House Circle at Wellesley Street West, (full roadway)
– Eastbound on Wellesley Street West to Queen’s Park Crescent East, (full roadway)
– Southbound on Queen’s Park Crescent East to Edward Street via University Avenue (full roadway)
– Turnaround at Edward Street onto northbound University Avenue (full roadway),
– Northbound University Avenue via Queens Park Crescent West to Bloor Street West (full roadway). Exception: barricaded northbound curb lane, for Charles Street traffic to be diverted to eastbound Bloor Street,
– Westbound on Bloor Street West to St. George Street, (full roadway),
– Southbound on St. George Street to College Street, (full roadway),
– Eastbound on College Street to King’s College Road, (full roadway),
– Northbound on King’s College Road to King’s College Circle, (full roadway),
– Finish, King’s College Circle (Dispersal Area)

One-kilometre route: (Run/Walk)

Formation Area

– 9:40 a.m., Hart House Circle within University of Toronto, all lanes,
– Start 10 a.m., Hart House Circle through Soldiers Tower to Tower Road. (full roadway),
– Northbound on Tower Road to Hoskin Avenue, (full roadway),
– Westbound on Hoskin Avenue to St. George Street, (full roadway),
– Southbound on St. George Street to College Street, (full roadway),
– Eastbound on College Street to King’s College Road, (full roadway),
– Northbound on King’s College Road to King’s College Circle (full roadway),
– Finish, King’s College Circle (Dispersal Area).

The event will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Members of the public should anticipate traffic disruptions, with local impact on TTC routes.
