On Thursday, September 30th, 2010 at approximately 1:10 p.m., a lone male entered the CIBC at 146 Highway 8, approached the teller and verbally demanded cash. An alert customer in the bank overheard the demand and recognized a robbery was in progress. This citizen immediately took action and without concern for his own safety tackled the suspect and held him there until Hamilton Police arrived to continue with the arrest. The suspect was searched and found to be in possession of two knives.
