Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section detectives continue to investigate the fatal shooting of a man in a west-end apartment suite on Saturday afternoon.
The Medical Examiner conducted the victim’s autopsy on the afternoon of Monday, April 28, 2014. The death was deemed to be a homicide, and the cause of death was a gunshot wound.
The autopsy has confirmed the man’s identity as Michael Alan Hill, 38. This is Edmonton’s 10th homicide for 2014.
Police continue to process the crime scene and interview witnesses from the apartment building.
Background:
EPS West Division Patrol units responded to a report of a male being shot in an apartment suite in the area of 89 Avenue and 149 Street at approximately 4:18 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014. EPS officers discovered a deceased adult male who appeared to in his 30s. EMS paramedics attempted to resuscitate the male but were unsuccessful. EPS Homicide Section detectives were called in to investigate, and an autopsy for the man was scheduled.
