Mounties investigate regarding a woman found deceased at Campbell River residence

The Campbell River RCMP are investigating the homicide of a 39 year old woman, which occurred during the afternoon hours of July 2nd, 2014.

A 9-1-1 call was received from a residence located on Eardley Road in Campbell River, shortly after 3:30 pm on July 2nd, 2014. Responding officers located a 39 year old woman in the residence, deceased from an apparent homicide. A 19 year old woman and a 24 year old man were also located at the residence. The male was airlifted to a Victoria area hospital for medical treatment of undisclosed injuries.

The 19 year old woman was taken into police custody, where she remains at this hour. The 24 year old man remains in hospital, but is expected to recover from his injuries. His part in this incident remains under investigation.

Officers with the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, the Campbell River RCMP Serious Crime Unit, and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) are actively pursuing all avenues of investigation in relation to this death. The BC Coroners Service was notified, and is working with investigators on determining the details surrounding this death.

As this investigation is in the early stages, investigators are unable to confirm any additional details at this time.
