District 8 RCMP are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Saint-Joseph Boulevard in Saint-Léolin, N.B.

Four young adults aged 19 to 23 were travelling in a Honda Civic when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle left the road. The crash occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. on October 20, 2010. The driver, a 20-year-old female from Saint-Léolin, died as a result of her injuries on October 21, 2010 at the Tracadie-Sheila hospital.

Alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors in the crash.

The other three occupants of the vehicle have been released from hospital. The name of the victim is not being disclosed at this time.

A collision reconstructionist was called to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
