A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on JD Gauthier Boulevard died october 22 as a result of his injuries.

According to the investigation, a 70-year-old man from the Shippagan area was crossing JD Gauthier Boulevard early in the morning on Saturday, October 14, 2010 when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid him.

The pedestrian was immediately rushed to hospital. Speed was not a factor in this incident. The victim was not crossing the street at a crosswalk.

The investigation is ongoing.
