At approximately 11:56 p.m., on Monday, October 11, 2010, police responded to a call in the area of Dundas Street and Hurontario Street. A male had contacted Police complaining that he had been shot. On arrival, officers found a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The investigation has determined that the shooting was as a result of an altercation between two individuals. Following the shooting, the victim fled the scene and police were called. The victim’s wounds are not considered life-threatening.

The victim has since been treated and released from an area hospital.

Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau issued a warrant for the gunman involved in this shooting.

The accused, Nepaul MCMORRIS, a 22 year-old resident of Toronto, turned himself in on October 26, 2010, to 12 Division Investigators. The accused was charged with Attempted Murder and was held pending a bail hearing.

Investigators advise that the investigation is still ongoing and MCMORRIS is expected to face further weapons related charges.
