The future of Canadian boxing becomes a reality on Friday night at Montreal’s Bell Centre, when Tyler Asselstine, considered one of the best prospects to come out of the Canadian national team in years, steps into the ring as a professional for the first time.

The recent winner of the prestigious Ringside World Championships, in Kansas City, the 23 year-old is poised to turn the first card of the new Fast and Furious series into the Tyler Asselstine show.

“Tyler is a special type of fighter,” said Asselstine’s promoter, Adam Harris, President of Hennessy Sports Canada.

“There are guys that turn pro and you think they can be something. But with Tyler, you look at him, and you know instantly he has the intangibles that you strain to see in most prospects.”

“We really think that like Logan Cotton McGuinness, Tyler is the future of the sport of boxing not only in Ontario, but across the country. He’s that good.”
