A 12 year old boy is recovering in hospital from stab wounds to his stomach and a 13 year old is in custody after an incident at Moberly Park October 31st at about 6:30 p.m.

A group of youths were setting off fireworks when an altercation broke out between two of them, which resulted in a 12 year old Vancouver boy being allegedly stabbed in the stomach. The victim returned home after noticing he was bleeding and called police.

Officers spoke with the victim, who was taken to hospital for treatment, and were able to get the name and description of the suspect. Shortly after 11:30 p.m., they located and arrested the suspect, a 13 year old Vancouver boy.

The suspect remains in custody and is facing possible charges of aggravated assault. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

UPDATE:

Charges have now been laid against the 13 year old Vancouver youth arrested in the stabbing incident that occurred last night at Moberly Park.

He has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

His next court appearance is on November 2nd at 9:30 a.m. in Youth Court.
