A 17-year-old Pickering woman was killed early Saturday morning following a two vehicle collision in the Township of Uxbridge.

On Saturday October 30, 2010 at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers from North Division were called to the intersection of Davis Drive and Uxbridge Concession 3, regarding a two vehicle collision. A GMC Sierra, being driven by a 57-year-old Uxbridge man, was westbound on Davis Drive, when it collided with a Honda Civic in the intersection. The Honda Civic, being driven by a 17-year-old Pickering woman, had been travelling southbound on Concession 3.

The driver of the Honda Civic was pronounced at the scene. A 19-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Civic, was transported to and later released from Lakeridge Health – Uxbridge with minor injuries. The driver of the GMC Sierra and his 13-year-old passenger were also transported to Lakeridge Health – Uxbridge and later released. Next of kin to the 17-year-old woman have not consented to her identity being released.

Members of the Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. A section of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. The investigation is ongoing regarding possible factors that may have contributed to this collision.
