Two separate DRPS Gang Enforcement Unit (GEU) investigations have led to three arrests and the seizure of five firearms and additional weapons.

On Thursday October 28th members of the GEU, Provincial Weapon Enforcement Unit (PWEU) and DRPS Criminal Intelligence Branch executed a general warrant at an apartment located on Simcoe Street North, in Oshawa. Officers seized a sawed-off .20 gauge shotgun.

Christopher ROBERTSON, age 22 and Meaghan WOOD, age 22, both of Oshawa are jointly charged with eight firearms-related offences. ROBERTSON is further charged with a drug-related offence and was held for bail. WOOD was released on an Undertaking with Conditions.

On Wednesday November 3, 2010, the GEU and PWEU executed a search warrant with the assistance of the DRPS Tactical Support Unit at a residence on Ashburn Road in Whitby. Two adults were arrested without incident and officers seized two rifles, a shotgun, ammunition and two knives.

Larry ZOLIS, age 40 and Sheryl LINTNER, age 40 of Whitby are jointly charged with eighteen firearms-related offences. Both accused were released on Undertakings with Conditions.
