Mississauga man Adrian South charged with first degree murder

Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have made an arrest in the murder of a 23 year old Mississauga man in 2013.

On Monday, August 17, 2013, at approximately 4:18 a.m., police responded to a 911 call involving a male party having been shot in a basement apartment on Lancaster Avenue.  Upon arrival, police located the victim, Mario Barnes, suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest area.  The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. 

On October 28, 2014, after an exhaustive investigation, Adrian South, 24 years of age, from Mississauga, was arrested by members of the Homicide Bureau.  South is charged with First Degree Murder and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Brampton, on October 29, 2014 for a Bail Hearing.
