Police Investigate Suspicious Death of Nosa Iyirhiaro in Hamilton

Hamilton Police Service is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male party after a disturbance at an apartment on Queen Street North in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 5th,2010.

Just before 4 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to 44 Queen Street North after receiving a 911 call of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers and emergency personnel found two males in two separate areas of the building suffering from injuries as a result of the same disturbance. Both males were transported to hospital.

Around 9 a.m. one male succumbed from his injuries. The second male was treated and released into police custody. He is currently being questioned by detectives.

The deceased has been identified as Nosa Iyirhiaro, 24yrs, of Hamilton.


The Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit continues the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 24 year old Nosa Iyirhiaro.

Police believe only Iyirhiaro and one other male were involved in a fight at an apartment at 44 Queen Street North on Sunday, December 5th, 2010. They are not seeking anyone else involved in the fight. As a result of the investigation, Iyirhiaro’s death has been ruled a homicide. This is the City’s 10th homicide.

The other male, a 20 year old resident of Toronto, has been released unconditionally at this time


  1. If you live by the gun, you die by the gun. 4am?? Why wasn’t this guy at home?? Obviously he was involved in guns and illegal activities. Google his name. Stupcomment_ID kcomment_ID should have been home and not out at 4am causing trouble. Unfortunately if you live a dangerous lifestyle that’s how you will go out.
