60 year old taxi driver assaulted in Halifax

The HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section is investigating an assault that took place Friday night in Dartmouth.

Just after 6 p.m., the victim, a 60-year-old man who drives a taxi, attended the Pinecrest Drive area to pick up a fare. While he was waiting, a group of youths walked by and began hitting his vehicle. The man exited his cab and confronted one of the youths and an argument ensued. As the man was returning to his car, another male began assaulting him before running away.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of significant injuries, however, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
