A 30-year-old Whitby man was arrested for drug trafficking and more than $94,000 worth of drugs and cash were seized.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, members of the DRPS Gun and Gang Unit arrested a male suspect after conducting a two-month drug trafficking investigation in Durham Region. Search warrants were executed at an Eric Clarke Drive address in Whitby and at a residence on Duberry Drive in Pickering. The suspect, who was out on bail for similar offences, was arrested without incident as he arrived at the Eric Clarke Drive address.

In total, investigators seized 815 grams of cocaine, 1.4 grams of heroin and $12,460 in cash. The street value of the drugs is approximately $82,000. 

Andre Betton age 30, of Eric Clarke Drive in Whitby, is charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) x2; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Heroin); and Fail to Comply with Recognizance x2. He was held for a bail hearing.
