The victim, Harry F. Collins, 34, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E. Cisneros and Senior Police Officer W. Ferguson reported:
Mr. Collins was driving home and, for an unknown reason, stopped his vehicle approximately two blocks from his residence. He got out on foot at 11500 Evesborough and was shot one time by an unknown suspect who fled the scene. During the early morning hours, a neighbor looked out her door and saw Collins lying on the ground next to his vehicle.
There are no known witnesses, suspects or motive in this case at this time.
