Police investigate sexual assault near St Clair subway station, Toronto

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault investigation.

It is reported that:

– on Saturday, January 1, 2011, in the early-morning hours, a woman left the St Clair subway station, using the Heath Street exit,

– as she walked towards Spadina Road, she was approached from behind by a man,

– the man grabbed the woman, sexually assaulted her, pushed her to the ground and fled the area.

The suspect is described as white, 5’9"-5’11", heavy build with short, dirty blonde hair and a red beard. He was wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and a blue novelty hat with “Happy New Year” on the front.
