On Friday, December 31, 2010, members of the TAVIS Rapid Response Team were on patrol in the Queen Street West/Spadina Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

– officers investigated a man at Queen Street West/Spadina Avenue,

– during the investigation, a Jennings 9mm pistol, with seven rounds of ammunition, was seized from the man.

Rowan Atkins, 22, Toronto has been charged with:

1. Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition,
2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,
3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized,
4. Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order,
5. Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order,
6. Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order,
7. Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order,
8. Carry Concealed Weapon.

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Saturday January 1, 2011.
