85 year old man Kwok Ching Lam missing from Edmonton home

Southeast Division officers are searching for an 85-year-old man who was reported missing at 3 a.m. this morning (Jan. 6, 2011).

Kwok Ching LAM, 85, left his residence at 767 Leeridge Road on Jan. 5 around 3:30 p.m. Lam was headed to Chinatown and first boarded the No. 8 bus downtown which stops at 101 Street and 102 Avenue. He then also boarded the No. 9 bus, but his family aren’t sure where he might have been going. Lam usually returns home between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. after visiting in Chinatown, which he frequents on a regular basis.

He was wearing a long navy blue coat, black dress pants, grey sweatshirt, black boots and possibly a hat. He may also be walking with a cane. He is 4’9” tall, weighs 118 lbs., has brown eyes and short grey hair. He also needs daily medications, which he doesn’t have with him.

Lam speaks Cantonese but doesn’t understand English.
