On Friday, February 18th, 2011 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Uniform Officers, along with Emergency Services Personnel responded to an apartment complex within the 300 block of Kennedy Street for a report of a stabbing that had occurred.

Upon arrival officers located a 34 year old male suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound to the upper body area. Winnipeg Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators have learned that during the afternoon hours the victim along with others known to him, were socializing within a suite at this location when an argument erupted between the victim and a 27 year old female. This argument escalated to the point where the female armed herself with a knife and proceeded to stab the victim.

The victim has been identified as Orzias Joram KNOTT, 34 years of Garden Hill, Manitoba.

Casandra Lydia KNOTT, 27 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Manslaughter as a result of her alleged involvement in this incident. She was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.

This investigation is continuing by both the Homicide and the Identification Unit.
