Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of an infant at 3925 Arlington Square about 11:30 a.m. on Monday (Feb. 21).

The suspect, Milton Rolando Paz (H/m, DOB: 3/15/85), is charged with capital murder involving a child under the age of six in the 351st State District Court.

The female victim, 1 month old, was found unresponsive and transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant O. Chandler and Officer R. Figueroa reported:

The baby girl was at her residence when her father, suspect Paz, found her unresponsive. Further investigation developed information that revealed the infant had sustained non-accidental trauma prior to her death.

The investigation led to the identification of Paz as a suspect in the case. On Tuesday (Feb. 22), he was arrested without incident.
