A Terrace RCMP Officer has been charged for assault in relation to an on duty incident and will be making a first appearance in Terrace Provincial Court on March 22, 2011. The assault is alleged to have occurred on October 17, 2010, after Cst Robert Hull, arrested an intoxicated woman outside a local night club. It’s alleged a physical altercation took place in the cell block which consisted of a single punch to the woman.

The Terrace Detachment Commander launched an RCMP Internal Code of Conduct Investigation as well as a Criminal Investigation. The incident was investigated by the Terrace RCMP under the supervision of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP.

All investigative findings were forwarded to Crown Counsel who, on February 23, 2011, laid one count of assault against Cst Hull.

Cst Hull has since been served a summons and he will be making his first court appearance in Terrace Provincial Court on March 22, 2011. Cst Hull has been on administrative duties since both investigations were launched.
