In the interest of public safety, the Calgary Police Service is issuing the following public information and warning in regards to the release of an inmate:

Derek Ross CALF-CHILD, 46, is in the Calgary area having served a 56-month federal prison sentence for sexual assault causing bodily harm. He will now be monitored by the Calgary Police Service High Risk Offender Program on a Section 810.2 Criminal Code Peace Bond for two years.

CALF-CHILD, who was released into the Calgary area today, Monday, March 7, 2011, has a lengthy history of criminal convictions dating back to 1983, including sexual assault, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

The public is warned that CALF-CHILD has a history of sexually assaulting female children and adults.

CALF-CHILD, is described as Aboriginal, 5’ 6” tall, 170 lbs., with brown eyes, a dark complexion and black-and-grey hair.
