Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested a 26 year-old Mississauga man in relation to two jewelry store robberies.

On Friday, March 12, 2010, three suspects entered the Peoples Jewelry store located at 6045 Mavis Road, Mississauga. Once inside, the suspects restrained two female employee victims and remove a large quantity of jewelry. Two of the suspects were armed with handguns and all three suspects fled the robbery in a dark coloured van.

On Tuesday, January 11, 2011, two suspects entered the Omni Jewelry store located at 700 Matheson Boulevard, Mississauga. Once inside, the suspects restrained four victim employees and removed a large quantity of jewelry. Both of these suspects were armed with handguns and fled the robbery in a dark coloured vehicle.

On Wednesday March 2, 2011, investigator from the Central Robbery Bureau arrested Daine Kimani EDIE, a 26 year-old Mississauga man. He has been charged with two counts of Robbery, two counts of Wearing a Disguise, two counts of Use Firearm During Commission of an Offence, two counts of Possession of Stolen Property and two counts of Breaching a Probation Order.

Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau continue to actively investigating both robberies, in an effort to locate the other suspects and the stolen jewellery. The stolen jewelry is valued at over $1,000,000.00.

Omni Jewelers has offered a $25,000.00 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of these suspects and/or the recovery of the jewelry.
