Winnipeg JetsHockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), announced today that Winnipeg Jets prospect Mark Scheifele is among the 41 players invited to Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp in Calgary. 

Scheifele, 18, was the Winnipeg Jets first round draft choice, seventh overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The Kitchener, ON native played in seven games with the Jets this season scoring his first NHL goal on Oct. 18/11 in Toronto against the Maple Leafs. Scheifele has played in 14 games with the Barrie Colts of the OHL earning 26 points (9g, 17a) along with 12 penalty minutes. 

Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp will take place Dec. 10-14, 2011 at the WinSport Canada Athletic & Ice Complex in Calgary.
