The Toronto Marlies defeated the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 2-0 this afternoon in front of over 6,000 fans at Ricoh Coliseum. The Marlies now hold a 2-0 series lead.

After a scoreless opening frame, Mike Zigomanis tallied his first goal of the playoffs at 12:39 of the second period to give the Marlies a 1-0 lead. Jerry D’Amigo would extend Toronto’s lead, scoring at 1:45 of the final frame. With two points tonight, D’Amigo now has four points in his first two games of the series. Drew MacIntyre made 25 saves to earn his first shutout since joining the Marlies in February.

The Marlies and Amerks will play game three of their Western Conference Quarter Final series on Wednesday, May 1 at Blue Cross Arena. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
