After a depressing 22-run defeat in a low scoring game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their campaign opener, Pune Warriors would be looking perform better with the bat when they will face Kings XI Punjab in their second Pepsi IPL match at MCA stadium in Pune on Sunday.

The Angelo Mathews-led side had unfortunately failed to chase the Hyderabad franchise`s small total of 126 runs after having a steady start. India senior player Yuvraj Singh would be eager to bat in an impressive manner after he scored only two runs against the Sunrisers. The bowling department look impressive with a three-pronged pace attack comprising Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda and skipper Angelo Matthews though the team opted to open the attack with spinner Marlon Samuels in Hyderabad during their last game. The likely PW squad will include: Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa (wk), Marlon Samuels, Yuvraj Singh, Ross Taylor, Abhishek Nayar, Angelo Mathews (c), Mitchell Marsh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Ashok Dinda.

On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab is hoping to start their IPL campaign on a winning note. Although, Kings XI have never won their opening game in the previous five editions of the IPL but the Adam Gilchrist-led side would be keen to change the past this year. The team would definitely miss Australian batsman, Shaun Marsh, who suffered a hamstring injury and is expected to join the Kings XI squad in the second half of April. The Kings XI batting department looks competitive with the likes of Gilchrist, fellow Australians David Hussey and Luke Pomersbach in their ranks. Also the presence of all-rounders Azhar Mahmood and Dimitri Mascarenhas will bolster the middle-order. In the bowling side, Australian Ryan Harris, newly-bought Manpreet Gony and Praveen Kumar form a decent pace attack, while the experienced Piyush Chawla is the other proven bowler in the line-up. The probable KXIP lineup will include: Adam Gilchrist (c & wk), Nitin Saini, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, David Hussey, Bipul Sharma, Mandeep Singh, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Azhar Mahmood, Piyush Chawla, Praveen Kumar, Parvinder Awana.
