Classical music superstar Joshua Bell performs the musicians of Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. Bell was recently named music director of the Academy, a title not bestowed since 1958 when the organization was founded by Sir Neville Marriner. After wowing film audiences on the Oscar-winning soundtrack to the film The Red Violin, Bell has enchanted audiences worldwide with his breathtaking virtuosity and beautiful tone. Bell performs on the Gibson ex-Huberman Stradivarius, which is nearly 300 years old. The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is a London-based chamber orchestra known for its fresh interpretations of the world’s most loved classical music, as well as its polished and refined sound.
