Film Festival Flix screens Treasure of the Black Jaguar in Pasadena. A modern-day take on an old-style adventure, the movie sends two buddies south of the border with a plan to strike it rich. Instead, they end up in a Mexican jail where they meet Blake, a feisty fortune hunter, who leads them on a trek through the unforgiving desert on a search for a historic gold statue. The Hollywood Reporter calls writer-director Mike Bruce’s film a “well-made adventure set in Sergio Leone-type terrain and blasted with Robert Rodriguez-ish firepower.”
