Highways Performance Space and Gallery (Santa Monica, CA)
Pony Box Dance Theatre premieres a pair of works and Intersect Dance Theatre presents two others, for an exciting evening of experimental performance. Intersect’s founding artistic director Sofia Carreras choreographed one of her company’s original pieces, while Roya Carreras created another, entitled A Table. Pony Box debuts the innovative e, inspired by Peter Schaffer’s play Equus, while in Devadasi, a woman breaks free from a wire and fabric cocoon, transcending the violence and chaos around her. Director Jamie Carbetta Hammond collaborated with composer Douglas Hammond, sculptor Joseph Umali Fernandez and textile artist Dawn Ertl on the two new works.
