Valley Performing Arts Center – Great Hall (Northridge, CA)

Grammy Award-winning conductor John Mauceri and a full orchestra celebrate the bicentennials of the birth of two of the world’s most respected composers, Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner, as well as the Hollywood film scores they inspired. The second concert of the popular Music in the Life of a Great City series, this evening features Verdi’s stirring Aida Overture and Triumphal Music, plus Wagner’s thrilling, crowd-pleasing Ride of the Valkyries. Along with these classical masterpieces, this concert will also spotlight familiar film music by the great Ennio Morricone and others, demonstrating the composers’ legacy and deep musical influence on Hollywood.
