Inspired while on tour with the multitalented Tyler Perry (best known for his Madea movies), American Idol finalist Kinnik Sky decided to write and star in her own drama filled with humor, heartache, deceit, betrayal and at least one character on stage you can relate to. After sold-out performances in Atlanta, the three-time NAACP Theatre Award-winning Sunday Mourning arrives at Nate Holden Performing Arts Center. The title refers to a smart, beautiful and deeply in love woman named Sunday whose American dream quickly turns to a nightmare. On the edge of madness, she begins to face the truth about herself and her life, and focus on what — and who — makes her happy.
