Ramen continues its global domination with this festival entirely devoted to the unctuous, crave-worthy Japanese noodle soup. The best ramen purveyors from around the globe will be at the Santa Anita Race Track to offer up their most slurp-able bowls of noodles, broth and toppings and compete to be the first U.S. Ramen Champion. Seven ramen shops from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Hawaii will be competing for the title, and four ramen shops from Japan (including last year’s favorite, Tokyo Ramen) will also be on hand for sampling. You can vote on your favorite spot when you purchase a bowl of ramen. Express Lane tickets include admission to the festival and let you bypass regular lines (which can be an hour or more long) to get your noodles. In addition to ramen, Sunday is Japan Family Day and will include other Japanese food vendors and activities for the whole family.
