This evening of back-to-back one-man shows highlights two incredibly creative Americans from different centuries who faced surprisingly similar challenges in their short lives. First up, Dean Ghaffari plays Sal Mineo in Rebel With a Cause. Mineo was famous for acting alongside James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause and Giant, and he was also openly gay, meeting his untimely death after being stabbed behind his West Hollywood apartment in 1976. Next on the bill is The Night of The Raven, starring Duffy Hudson as Edgar Allan Poe. The author of famous short stories and poems such as The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death and The Pit and the Pendulum, Poe was a master of the macabre. Hudson has been a fan of Poe since childhood, and he’s performed as the writer more than 1,000 times. These two one-man shows come together in An Evening With Sal Mineo and Edgar Allan Poe at Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena.
